Antam Registers for Gold Block Auction in Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) is expanding its gold development strategy by exploring opportunities overseas. One of the targets is in Saudi Arabia. Antam’s President Director, Untung Budiharto, stated that the company has registered for the auction of gold prospect blocks in that country. “Antam is currently exploring overseas exploration opportunities, which we are undertaking in Saudi Arabia,” he said during a meeting with Commission VI of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Tuesday (31/3/2026). The registration is being carried out as part of long-term expansion. This step is aimed at adding reserves beyond domestic assets. Untung mentioned that the exploration strategy is designed to be balanced. The company continues to optimise existing assets while opening new sources of growth. The company is also participating in the auction of Gold Mining Business Licence Areas or WIUP. Collaboration is being carried out with the Geological Agency to map potential new areas. This approach shows that Antam does not solely rely on overseas expansion. The domestic base remains the main foundation.
