State-owned mining company PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk (Antam) has established a strategic partnership with PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk (Bank Muamalat). The collaboration concerns the distribution of Antam precious metals through a wholesaler scheme. The agreement was signed on Wednesday (8/7).

This collaboration is part of both companies’ efforts to strengthen the national gold ecosystem whilst expanding public access to gold ownership through sharia-compliant gold financing services.

Through this partnership, Antam and Bank Muamalat will synergise in the physical trading of Antam precious metals via Bank Muamalat’s branch office network and digital channels. Additionally, both companies will collaborate on various marketing programmes, education, and gold investment literacy initiatives for the public.

This synergy is expected to strengthen the national gold supply chain whilst broadening public access to safe, reliable, and sharia-compliant gold investment, in line with efforts to promote the development of the national gold ecosystem.

Bank Muamalat Director Ricky Rikardo Mulyadi stated that Bank Muamalat and Antam have been long-standing business partners. Through this latest partnership, both parties are expected to expand distribution, strengthen the national gold supply chain, and increase public access to gold ownership as a safe and sharia-compliant investment instrument through Islamic financing.

“Bank Muamalat and Antam already have a long history of strategic business partnerships. Each company also has strengths that can be synergised. Therefore, we are optimistic this latest initiative will bring benefits to both parties and promote sharia gold investment among the public, supported by quality gold supply from Antam,” he said.

According to Ricky, Indonesia’s first purely sharia bank continues to strive to facilitate the growing interest of customers and the public in owning gold bullion. Moreover, the rising public interest in gold is inseparable from improving financial literacy. Gold is increasingly viewed as an investment instrument capable of preserving asset value (safe haven) amidst global economic dynamics, as well as being an important part of long-term financial planning.

In line with this trend, Bank Muamalat’s gold financing through its Solusi Emas Hijrah product continues to show strong growth. As of June 2026, outstanding gold financing reached Rp1.9 trillion, growing 537% compared to the same period the previous year. Meanwhile, total customer gold bookings have exceeded 1.2 tonnes, with approximately 54% being Antam precious metals.

“We hope Bank Muamalat’s gold financing can become a solution for the public in realising various financial goals in accordance with sharia principles, including hajj settlement, children’s education funds, and family future planning,” Ricky stated.

Meanwhile, Antam Commercial Director Handi Sutanto said this partnership is part of Antam’s commitment to expanding public access to precious metal products whilst strengthening the national gold ecosystem through collaboration with various strategic partners.

“Antam continues to strive to present quality, reliable precious metal products that are increasingly accessible to the public through strategic partnerships with various institutions. The synergy with Bank Muamalat is expected to expand the distribution of Antam precious metals, improve gold investment literacy, and support the development of a more inclusive and sustainable national gold ecosystem,” Handi said.

He added: “This collaboration is a strategic step in strengthening the national gold ecosystem by making Antam precious metal products more widely accessible to the public. We believe this synergy not only provides added value for both companies but also supports the development of the national gold industry and increases public trust in gold investment as a safe and long-term valuable instrument,” Handi concluded.
