ANTAM manages public facility assets to support community activities in Bintan
Bintan holds a significant place in the history of ANTAM.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ANTAM) is collaborating with the Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov Kepri) to fulfil its commitment to responsible asset management by providing public facilities in the form of green open spaces. These spaces play a vital role in supporting social activities, recreation, and community interaction in Bintan Regency.
Handi Sutanto, Director of Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and Commercial, stated that ANTAM prioritises corporate governance principles that provide social and environmental value, as well as building partnerships aligned with regional needs and community interests.
“Bintan holds an important place in ANTAM’s historical journey. The relationship established serves as a foundation for us to continue contributing to the community. The synergy with the Riau Islands Provincial Government through Kijang City Park is a manifestation of that commitment, as well as part of the implementation of ANTAM’s ESG principles by supporting the existence of green open spaces, providing social benefits to the community, and maintaining good governance,” Handi said in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.
This synergy is carried out through the provision of public facilities at Kijang City Park, Bintan Regency, reflecting both parties’ attention to the community’s need for comfortable public spaces and a high-quality urban environment.
The Governor of Riau Islands, Ansar Ahmad, expressed appreciation for ANTAM’s support in developing public spaces in Bintan Regency. He noted that the synergy between the local government and the company plays a crucial role in expanding the benefits of development.
“The interests of the community are the primary focus of this synergy. We appreciate ANTAM’s commitment to supporting Kijang City Park as a comfortable and beneficial public space. This collaboration demonstrates that local governments and companies can work together to contribute to the quality of life of the people,” said Ansar.
Ansar added that the existence of green open spaces is an essential part of regional development. In addition to supporting environmental quality, public spaces provide venues for community activities and strengthen social life in urban areas.
This commitment is realised through the signing of a Compensation Binding Agreement regarding land procurement for public interest.
The binding agreement confirms the commitment of both ANTAM and the Riau Islands Provincial Government to support the utilisation of Kijang City Park for the public interest. This agreement is part of the completion stage through a compensation mechanism for public interest, while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and governance.
This synergy is expected to serve as an example of collaboration between companies and local governments in supporting the public interest. This spirit also opens opportunities for community involvement in collectively maintaining Kijang City Park as a public facility that serves as a shared pride.
“For ANTAM, the company’s contribution is reflected in the benefits felt by the community. We hope this synergy strengthens the relationship between ANTAM, the Riau Islands Provincial Government, and the Bintan community, and becomes part of our joint efforts to build the region,” Handi concluded.
