In contrast, the buyback price—the rate at which Antam repurchases gold from the public—rose by Rp20,000 to Rp2.340 million per gram compared to the previous trading day. This increase is likely to attract attention from individuals planning to sell their gold holdings.

All gold sales transactions are subject to taxation under Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No. 34/PMK.10/2017. For buyback transactions exceeding Rp10 million, a PPh Article 22 income tax is applied at a rate of 1.5% for taxpayers possessing a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) and 3% for those without one. The tax is deducted directly from the total buyback value received by the seller. Similarly, purchases of gold bullion are also subject to PPh Article 22 as stipulated in the same regulation.
