Another Bank Closes, LPS Takes Action
The number of People’s Economy Banks (BPR) that have been closed has increased again. This time, it is PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari, located in Lubuk Basung, Agam Regency, West Sumatra.
The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has carried out the revocation of the business licence (CIU) for the BPR through the Decree of the OJK Board Member No. KEP-28/D.03/2026 dated 31 March 2026.
Following that decision, the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) began preparations for verifying customer data on the same date, in order to carry out the payment of customer deposit claims.
The series of payment processes carried out by LPS will be conducted by prioritising the interests of depositor customers and adherence to procedures in accordance with applicable provisions.
The payment process will begin with verifying the accuracy of data for customers of BPR Pembangunan Nagari. This verification is necessary to determine whether the customers’ deposits comply with the LPS 3T requirements.
The 3T requirements for deposits guaranteed by LPS include: recorded in the bank’s books, interest rates not exceeding the LPS guarantee interest rate, and not indicated or proven to have committed illegal acts that result in losses to the bank.
After the data verification process is carried out, LPS will immediately announce the list of customers whose deposit status has been determined at the location of the Head Office of BPR Pembangunan Nagari.
Customers can also view the payment announcement more easily through the website link https://apps.lps.go.id/statussimpanan. On that page, customers simply need to fill in the bank name, PT BPR Pembangunan Nagari, and the account number.
“The series of payment processes is carried out in compliance with applicable provisions and continues to prioritise convenience for customers of BPR Pembangunan Nagari,” said Nur Budiantoro, Acting Director of the Group Secretariat of the Corporation in his statement on Wednesday (31/3/2026).
Customers who need further information regarding the implementation of deposit insurance and the liquidation of BPR Pembangunan Nagari can contact the LPS Information Service Centre (Puslinfo) at 021-154.
