Another ADB loan to RI
MANILA (Reuter): The Asian Development Bank has approved an
interest-free emergency US$18 million loan to Indonesia to help
rebuild infrastructure damaged by a severe earthquake in
February, which killed more than 200 people.
The money will go towards rebuilding roads and bridges,
schools, health centers and public markets damaged by the
earthquake in West Lampung district on the southern tip of
Sumatra Island, the Manila-based bank said in a statement
yesterday.
On Tuesday, ADB announced $357 million in loans for the
establishment of a power project and the improvement of
vocational and technical education.
