MANILA (Reuter): The Asian Development Bank has approved an interest-free emergency US$18 million loan to Indonesia to help rebuild infrastructure damaged by a severe earthquake in February, which killed more than 200 people.
The money will go towards rebuilding roads and bridges, schools, health centers and public markets damaged by the earthquake in West Lampung district on the southern tip of Sumatra Island, the Manila-based bank said in a statement yesterday.
On Tuesday, ADB announced $357 million in loans for the establishment of a power project and the improvement of vocational and technical education.
