The number of Acehnese hajj pilgrims who have died in Saudi Arabia has risen to nine, according to the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) for the Aceh embarkation point. PPIH Aceh Chairman Arijal confirmed the latest death in Banda Aceh on Monday. The most recent pilgrim to pass away was Muhammad Yusuf bin Nafi from Embarkation Group 08, originally from Bireuen Regency. He died on Sunday (14/6) at approximately 3:20 p.m. Saudi Arabia Time (WAS) in Madinah. The eight previously deceased Acehnese pilgrims include Nurdin Ali (69) from Group 10, Pidie Regency, who died of a heart attack at the Burj Al Wahda Al Mutamayyiz Hotel in Makkah on Saturday (6/6). Ibrahim Bin Abdul Kadir Nuh (74), also from Group 10, Pidie Regency, died at King Abdul Aziz Hospital on Sunday (31/5). Sulasry Abdul Gani (74) from Group 05, Bireuen Regency, died in her hotel room at Burj Al Wahda Almutamayiz Makkah on Sunday (31/5). Aminah Ahmad (76) from Group 13, Pidie Jaya Regency, died at Sheefa Hospital on Saturday (30/5). Siti Salmijah (83) from Group 13, Pidie Jaya, died at Mina Al Wadi Hospital on Thursday (28/5). Two other pilgrims, Maimunah Yusuf Ali (72) from Group 13, Aceh Tamiang, and Nurwaida Muhammad Yusuf (76) from Group 08, Bireuen Regency, both died on Tuesday (26/5). Arijal also noted that nine Acehnese pilgrims remain hospitalised in Saudi Arabia. He extended his condolences, praying for forgiveness for the deceased and strength for their families.
