Annual Tax Returns Reach 13.27 Million, Coretax Account Activations Hit 19.2 Million

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has recorded a total of 13,279,936 annual Income Tax (PPh) returns for the 2025 tax year as of 17 May 2026. Inge Diana Rismawanti, Director of Community Service, Taxpayer Services, and Public Relations at the DJP, stated that the majority of these filings originated from individual employees.

According to the breakdown, 10,867,029 returns were submitted by individual employees, while 1,471,305 were submitted by non-employee individuals. In the oil and gas sector, 15 returns were filed in Rupiah and 226 in US Dollars. For taxpayers with fiscal years differing from the January-December cycle who began reporting on 1 August 2025, the DJP recorded 30,764 corporate returns in Rupiah and 40 in US Dollars.

Furthermore, the DJP reported that Coretax account activations have reached 19,253,115 taxpayers. This figure includes 18,043,212 individual taxpayers, 1,118,051 corporate taxpayers, 91,620 government agency taxpayers, and 232 taxpayers involved in Electronic Systems of Commerce (PMSE).

The Directorate General of Taxes has also officially extended the filing deadline for corporate annual income tax returns to 31 May 2026. Previously, the deadline for corporate tax returns was 30 April 2026. Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto stated that this policy was implemented following high demand for relaxation from taxpayers and to provide additional time for reporting.

‘As of this morning, I have sought guidance from the Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, and he has instructed us to consider the relaxation of corporate annual tax return submissions. We are currently processing the extension of the reporting period and will release the details shortly,’ said Bimo during a press conference at the KPP Madya Jakarta Pusat on Thursday (30/4/2026).
