Announcing the Winners of the 2026 BPJS Kesehatan Journalistic Works Award
As a form of appreciation for the contributions of mass media journalists in educating the public regarding the National Health Insurance (JKN) Programme, BPJS Kesehatan presented special awards to 15 winning journalists of the 2026 Journalistic Works Competition on Wednesday (16/09).
The President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati Pujowaskito, revealed that the award is an expression of appreciation for mass media journalists who have broadened public insight into the importance of having health insurance protection, the latest innovations from BPJS Kesehatan, and the necessity of involvement from all parties to support the sustainability of the JKN Programme, which has proven to bring many benefits to the Indonesian nation.
“The mass media is an important component that connects BPJS Kesehatan, the government, the community, and other stakeholders. The media helps create spaces for improvement in the implementation of the JKN Programme in the future; we are open to criticism and constructive input,” said Pujo.
The 2026 Journalistic Works Competition was met with enthusiastic responses from both local and national journalists in Indonesia, with a total of 236 entries received. The participants’ works were evaluated by a panel of professional and competent judges, including the Chairperson of the Indonesian Editors’ Forum, senior journalists, and editors-in-chief of prominent national mass media. To maintain neutrality, the names of the journalists and media outlets were removed during the assessment process, making the entries anonymous.
“Once again, congratulations to all the recipients of the 2026 Journalistic Works Award. Thank you for being part of the JKN Programme’s journey. We ask for your continued support for the JKN Programme in voicing accurate information and positive news, as an effort to maintain public trust,” said Pujo.
Meanwhile, the Head of the West Java Provincial Health Office, R. Vini Adiani Dewi, representing the Governor of West Java, stated that the mass media has significantly helped the public understand their rights and obligations as JKN participants, while simultaneously encouraging service improvements through constructive criticism of both the government and BPJS Kesehatan as part of a collective effort to improve public services.
“Compared to 12 years ago, healthcare services are now much better. Information regarding the vast benefits of the JKN Programme needs to be continuously voiced by the media. Thank you for bridging policy information with the needs of the community and bringing an impact to the improvement of healthcare service quality. Continue to be a trusted mouthpiece for health information for the community, including the people of West Java,” she said.
