Announcement of The Best Vessel 2026: An Appreciation for Ship Crews
Sinarmas LDA Usaha Pelabuhan (SLUP) has presented the ‘The Best Vessel Quarter 1 2026’ awards to vessels with top-performing crews, including SLM Josephine, SLM Apollo 2, SLM Artemis 2, Mitra Kencana 4, and SLM Apollo 5. According to Faoli Zebua, Head of Crewing at Sinarmas LDA Usaha Pelabuhan, this is a strategic step by the company to provide recognition to the crews operating these vessels. SLUP is a subsidiary of Sinarmas LDA Maritime Group (SLM).
“We operate between 110 to 120 Indonesian-flagged vessels with a workforce of approximately 2,000 to 2,500 employees. We have our own methods to ensure vessel operations continue to deliver peak performance. Based on the data we collect, we assess the best-performing vessels every quarter and present awards; this is essential to ensure crews continue to provide their best performance,” stated Faoli Zebua in an official statement on Tuesday.
As a private shipping and integrated logistics service provider operating throughout Indonesia, SLUP uses these awards to ensure the professional performance standards of a vessel serve as a benchmark for its other 120 vessels. For 2026, SLUP is presenting awards to five vessels across four categories: self-propelled barge, liquid tug, liquid tug SSKI, and tug boat.
Sinarmas LDA Usaha Pelabuhan (SLUP) is a strategic joint venture between Indonesia’s Sinarmas Group and France’s Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (Pacemar). The company focuses on the transport of both dry and liquid bulk cargo, as well as providing port operational services. Dry bulk includes coal transported via barges and cargo ships, while liquid bulk involves the shipment of vegetable oils, such as palm oil, and other liquid products. To support its operations, the company is supported by a fleet of 250 trucks, storage warehouses spanning 10,000 square metres, and liquid storage tanks with a capacity of 14,000 MT (Metric Ton).
