Jakarta, VIVA – The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has confirmed that the Saudi Arabian government will not issue furoda Hajj visas for this year’s pilgrimage, advising the public to be vigilant against any offers of departure using such visas.

“There are none, so this year Saudi will not issue furoda Hajj visas. Clearly, the legal visa is the Hajj visa,” said Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak in Jakarta on Thursday.

Dahnil stated that the proliferation of offers for Hajj departures without queues via social media is a practice that must be heeded, as it potentially constitutes a scam or illegal Hajj.

Currently, Kemenhaj, together with the Indonesian National Police (Polri), will form a Task Force for Preventing Illegal Hajj, one of whose duties is to address all forms of modus operandi for non-procedural Hajj departures.

“That’s what we want to prevent. If it continues to recur, then automatically the police will carry out criminal enforcement,” he said.

He emphasised that there are two official routes for Indonesians to perform the Hajj pilgrimage: regular Hajj and special Hajj. Anything outside of that, Kemenhaj assures, does not comply with regulations.

“There is no Hajj without a queue. Hajj definitely involves a queue,” he stressed.

According to him, the current waiting period for regular Hajj is around 26 years, shorter than before when it could reach nearly five decades in some regions. Meanwhile, the waiting period for special Hajj is around six years.

He said that claims of quick departures without queues, often called ‘Haji Tenol’, are indications of illegal practices that the public must avoid.

Dahnil added that the government continues to improve Hajj management governance in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives, including efforts to reduce waiting times to more rational levels.

The government urges the public not to be easily tempted by offers that do not follow procedures and to ensure registration is done through official channels to avoid losses or potential legal issues.
