Anindya Bakrie Optimistic That Kadin's Four Quick-Win Programmes Will Boost Government Economic Agenda
The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, stated that the organisation has implemented four quick-win programmes as a form of support for various government priority agendas in the fields of economy, health, employment, and housing.
During a meeting between Kadin entrepreneurs from central and regional offices across Indonesia with President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace, Anindya mentioned that Kadin has immediately consolidated its various strengths to launch these four quick wins capable of boosting the economy. “Because these have a significant impact,” Anindya said on Friday, 31 July 2026.
Anindya explained that the four programmes were selected due to their perceived large-scale impact on the national economy. The first programme is the ‘Gotong Royong’ Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Task Force. To date, Kadin has contributed through 866 MBG kitchens, 128 of which are located in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions. According to Anindya, Kadin prioritises support for this programme based on UNICEF research, which indicates that every US$1 invested in nutrition programmes can yield multiplied economic impacts.
The second programme is the Free Health Check-up (PKG) Task Force. In support of this, Kadin has launched a white paper titled “Health Is The New Wealth,” which outlines the potential economic value of the healthcare sector at approximately Rp 670 trillion. “We have identified that health represents Rp 670 trillion, and every Rp 1 spent can generate Rp 2 to Rp 3,” said Anindya.
Furthermore, Kadin is implementing a programme for the protection and capacity building of Indonesian migrant workers. Anindya stated that this programme targets approximately 208,000 migrant workers through certification and training to ensure higher competence and increase the country’s foreign exchange contributions.
The fourth programme involves the renovation of uninhabitable houses, in support of the three-million-house construction programme. According to Anindya, the housing sector has a significant multiplier effect on the economy and has the potential to create up to 19 million jobs.
Anindya noted that these various programmes also create opportunities for business actors in all regions to participate in supporting the government’s development agenda. “We can feel, even in the remote areas, that they have the opportunity to participate in the economic programmes initiated by the President,” he concluded.
