Anindya Bakrie Highlights Inter-Provincial Synergy to Global Markets at Kadin Trade National Coordination Meeting
Jakarta – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, highlighted three main points: the importance of stable inter-provincial trade, global market expansion, and strengthening investment as drivers of economic growth.
He presented this at the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of Kadin Indonesia, themed “Optimising Domestic and International Trade and Accelerating Strategic Investment Towards the 8 Percent Economic Growth Target” in the Mega Kuningan area, South Jakarta.
“First, how domestic trade can also have stability. The 38 provinces can trade with each other because not all produce the same things. So this can become economic resilience itself,” Anindya said in his statement on Saturday, 2 May 2026.
Regarding foreign trade, Anindya appreciated the government’s efforts in opening new market access amid global economic pressures.
“The government is working hard to open markets from existing ones like the United States, but also the European Union, Canada, Eurasia, and others. We see that we must continue to utilise this, especially as it can generate foreign exchange when the rupiah, like other currencies, is under pressure,” he stated.
He also highlighted the first-quarter 2026 investment achievement of Rp 500 trillion as a motor for trade. According to him, the average investment is Rp 1 billion, so Kadin members in the regions can continue to be inspired and invest to achieve economic growth.
“I think this is very important because ultimately it leads to trade. We invest to be able to trade, which will certainly generate other strengths like domestic consumption,” he said.
Meanwhile, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, who opened the Rakornas, emphasised the importance of sustainable collaboration between the government and business actors to boost export performance and maintain domestic market growth.
“So today is the Rakornas for the trade sector. We continue to collaborate between the government and business actors, in this case Kadin and all associations. First, how our exports continue to increase from several commodities, and also how the domestic market continues to grow,” he said.
Budi added that this synergy will involve Kadin’s network down to the regional level to ensure all government programmes run effectively.
