Anindya Bakrie Assures Prabowo of Business Sector's Readiness to Drive National Economic Growth

The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, has reaffirmed the dominant role of the business sector in the national economy, stating that Kadin feels a responsibility to help drive national economic growth. This was conveyed by Anindya during a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, alongside Kadin Indonesia officials, at the State Palace in Central Jakarta.

Anindya explained that data from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS) indicates that approximately 92 per cent of Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is supported by domestic consumption, private investment, and exports. “Looking at the BPS data, almost 92 per cent of the economy in the GDP comes from public consumption, private investment, and exports,” Anindya stated on Friday, 31 July 2026.

He noted that the significant contribution of the non-government sector is the reason Kadin is actively involved in supporting the national economic development agenda. This contribution, he acknowledged, does not only stem from large corporations but also involves MSMEs, cooperatives, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Regional State-Owned Enterprises (BUMDs), and local entrepreneurs.

“Therefore, Kadin feels called to contribute to this 92 per cent of our economy. This includes MSMEs, cooperatives, SOEs, BUMDs, and large companies, both at the central and regional levels. Consequently, the relevant associations are present here today,” he said.

Anindya also explained the philosophy behind the Kadin logo, which he believes reflects the character of the Indonesian business world in facing various economic challenges. He mentioned that the boat symbol represents the ability of entrepreneurs to persevere through various conditions, while the two horses symbolise the spirit of working together to support the government.

“This is why we, Mr President, always work hard and remain optimistic. If you look at the Kadin logo, there is a boat. This boat signifies that a strong entrepreneur is one who can navigate all types of seas,” Anindya remarked.

He added that the spirit of collaboration serves as the primary foundation for Kadin in supporting President Prabowo’s administration. “Furthermore, in the logo, there are not just one horse, but two horses, Sir. This means we must work hard, shoulder to shoulder, to support the government. And of course, the logo’s enduring values remain: Resilient, Honest, and Loyal. Resilient, Honest, and Loyal—for whom? For the Red and White (the Indonesian flag),” he concluded.
