Anies Performs Halalbihalal with SBY and AHY, PD: Good to Forgive Each Other

Former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan visited the residence of Indonesia’s sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, during the Idul Fitri celebrations. The Democratic Party commented on the meeting between Anies, SBY, and Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). “The Idul Fitri moment is certainly good for mutual forgiveness, especially among national figures,” said a member of the Democratic Party’s Supreme Council, Syarief Hasan, to reporters on Wednesday (25/3/2026). Syarief Hasan stated that the meeting between Anies, SBY, and AHY could serve as an example for all parties to build silaturahmi. According to him, mutual forgiveness is good and in accordance with religious teachings. “It’s good as an example for the people that forgiving each other is in line with our religious teachings,” he explained. This former Deputy Chairman of the MPR for 2019-2024 mentioned that nothing was discussed between SBY-AHY and Anies other than just silaturahmi. “Just silaturahmi, nothing else,” he said. It is known that SBY held a halalbihalal at his residence in Cikeas. Several figures attended, from the daughter of the fourth President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), Yenny Wahid, to Anies Baswedan. The halalbihalal event was uploaded on the Instagram account of Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono’s (AHY) special staff, Merry Riana, on Sunday (22/3). In her caption, Merry wrote that the uploaded photos were from the Lebaran moment in Cikeas. “First Lebaran in Cikeas. Please forgive my physical and spiritual shortcomings,” wrote Merry, as seen by detikcom on Tuesday (24/3). There were several moments uploaded, one of which was Anies chatting with SBY and AHY. In that moment, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas) was seen near the three of them. Another moment uploaded by Merry Riana was AHY singing on stage. Yenny Wahid also contributed a song at the event.
