Anies Baswedan: Ambon, Poso, and Aceh are Peaceful Because of Jusuf Kalla's Influence

Former Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, spoke about the significant role of the 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, in several conflict areas such as Ambon, Poso, and Aceh. According to Anies, the peaceful situation and conditions in these areas are inseparable from Kalla’s involvement. He made these remarks while attending a celebration for Jusuf Kalla’s 84th birthday in South Jakarta on Saturday, May 16, 2026. “If we look at the peaceful Ambon, the peaceful Poso, and the peaceful Aceh, there is Kalla’s influence there,” said Anies. Anies expressed that the people are grateful to have a figure like Kalla who continues to be an example. “We are grateful to have a national figure who continues to be an example and a reference,” he said. Furthermore, during the 84th birthday celebration, Anies prayed that Kalla would always be given good health and continue to be an example for future generations. “We pray that he will always be healthy and that what he has done so far can be an inspiration for the new generation,” he said.
