A joint SAR team is intensifying the search for a missing angler named Indra, who was reported missing on Friday afternoon. Based on a report received by the SAR team at the Basarnas Jambi Office, Indra, a resident of Buluran Kenali sub-district, Telanaipura, Jambi City, is suspected to have disappeared and drowned whilst fishing on the banks of the Batanghari River on Thursday night. The victim was reported by his family to have gone fishing at the Batanghari River at around 10.10 pm local time. However, by Friday afternoon, the victim had still not returned home. The family and local residents, growing anxious, tried to trace the banks of the Batanghari River to find the victim’s whereabouts. Unfortunately, the victim was not found. At the location suspected to be the victim’s fishing spot, the searching family members only found the victim’s motorcycle, sandals, and mobile phone. The situation was then reported by the family to the Jambi SAR Office through personnel from the Jambi City BPBD. Head of the Jambi SAR Office, Adah Sudarsa, confirmed the report. The missing person report was received at 1.36 pm local time on Friday afternoon. Adah Sudarsa immediately deployed six of his personnel to search for the victim. Assisted by personnel from the Jambi City BPBD, the Indonesian National Police and the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the search is focused on combing the flow of the Batanghari River around the Telanaipura District, Jambi City, using rubber boats. As of Friday evening, the search team had still not found Indra.
