Angkasa Pura sued in land case
Fifty-six residents of Karang Sari and Karang Anyer
subdistricts of Neglasaari district, Tangerang, have filed suit
against PT Angkasa Pura for the alleged illegal claim on 18
hectares of land.
The residents arrived at the Tangerang District Court on
Monday, accompanied by lawyer Sudjanto of Sudjanto and Sudiana
Law Office, to file their suit. The land is valued at Rp 54
billion.
According to local figure Tabib M. Misin, Angkasa Pura,
through "Committee 9", released 118 hectares of residents' land
in the early 1980s for the development of the Jakarta
international airport.
Angkasa Pura has taken over 98 hectares of a 116-hectare area.
The residents of the remaining 18 hectares have reportedly not
yet been paid for their land, although the government has
disbursed the funds for the purchase.
"We have authentic evidence of land ownership, but Angkasa
Pura has claimed the land and has banned residents from building
new buildings there," Misin said, with the deeds to a plot of
land in his hands. --JP
