Angelique, Dea to meet in final

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian Angelique Widjaja beat Japan's Kumiko Iijima 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 on Friday to set up an all-Indonesian final against Dea Sumantri in the girl's singles of the Indonesia Gas Negara International Junior tennis championship here on Saturday.

Dea had no difficulties in defeating Constanze Steiner of Austria 6-2, 6-1 in Friday's other semifinal. Partnering Angelique, Dea also cruised into the girl's doubles final on Saturday, where the pair will meet the Japanese duo of Iijima and Tomoko Yonemura.

Dea and Angelique barely broke a sweat in defeating the South African team of Inge Weirich and Maretha Van Niekerk 6-4, 6-0, while Iijima and Yonemura upset Austrian duo Daniela Kiz and Steiner 7-5, 6-2.

In the boy's singles, Wang Yeu-tzuoo of Chinese Taipei will meet Lukasz Kubot of Poland in Saturday's final. Wang beat Thailand's Sonchai Ratiwatana 7-5, 6-4, and Kubot outclassed South African Clinton Jacobs 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.

Wang also teamed up with Prakash Amritraj to earn a place in the final of the boy's doubles event. The duo overcame Jacobs and Chris Westerhof 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. They will meet qualifier Kubot and Austrian Marco Mirnegg, who defeated the South African pair of Jason Pieters and Tom Macquet 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals. (ivy)
