Android-based Googlebook available for pre-order from 21 September 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Google has announced the existence of its premium laptop running the Android operating system, the Googlebook, and the company has now confirmed that pre-orders can begin on 21 September 2026.

Quoting an Engadget report on Monday (14/9), Google has sent early notifications to people who previously signed up to receive updates about the Googlebook, informing them that pre-orders will open on 21 September at 9am ET, or around 21:00 WIB.

The pre-order date also appears on the Googlebook website, confirming that advance orders can indeed be placed on that date.

So far, what is certain is that the laptop will run an Android-based version of ChromeOS, and all the leading laptop brands — Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo — which previously made Chromebooks are confirmed to be producing Googlebooks.

Gemini Intelligence, Google’s artificial intelligence system, is confirmed to be the “heart” of these laptops’ development.

One of the standout features is Magic Cursor, an AI recommendation feature that can be accessed by moving the cursor that appears on screen.

If a user points the cursor at an app on screen, the Googlebook will offer contextual suggestions about actions the user can take. Users will also be able to create custom widgets to make accessing favourite apps easier.

The Googlebook is also promised to integrate deeply with Android phones, allowing users to stay productive at all times, whether on the laptop or their smartphone.
