Andrie Yunus's Burn Injuries Improve After Undergoing Skin Graft
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Legal and Public Relations Manager of RSUPN Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), Yoga Nara, stated that the burns suffered by Deputy Coordinator of KontraS Andrie Yunus, after being doused with acid, have improved.
Previously, an examination by the RSCM medical team declared that Andrie Yunus had burns covering about 20 percent of his body area.
“The patient’s wound condition shows improvement, with most of the wounds having closed and dried,” Yoga revealed in a written statement on Wednesday night (23/3/2026).
“Covered by new skin from the graft in the face area, front neck, chest, part of the shoulder, and right arm,” he continued.
Following that, the medical team plans to conduct wound evaluations under sedation twice this week. The aim is to ensure the healing process is progressing well.
Additionally, according to Yoga, there is still an area of dead skin on the back of the neck that will be cleaned and covered with further skin grafting within the next week.
The operation aims to remove tissue damaged by burns from being doused with acid by an unknown person.
“In some wound areas, skin grafting has also been performed as part of efforts to accelerate the healing process. Currently, the patient is still undergoing intensive wound care,” Yoga said in a written statement received by Kompas.com on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
This care also aims to further evaluate the condition and depth of the burns experienced by Andrie Yunus.
At that time, Yoga Nara mentioned that Andrie Yunus has the opportunity to undergo further skin grafting if his clinical condition continues to improve well.
