Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), Andrie Yunus, has written a letter to President Prabowo Subianto. This is the third letter Andrie has written since the acid attack on 12 March 2026.

The letter was delivered directly by representatives of a civil society coalition calling itself Solidarity for Andrie Yunus to the Presidential Palace complex on Friday morning, 17 April 2026.

In the letter, Andrie questions the government’s commitment to resolving the acid attack case against him. “More than 30 days have passed, what is the progress of my case?” Andrie writes in a green sheet of paper.

Andrie states that 12 April 2026 marks 30 days since the planned murder attempt against him through the terror of an acid attack. Andrie wrote this letter dated 17 April 2026 because there has been no significant progress and serious intent in efforts to resolve his case.

He says that his colleagues at KontraS and the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) have undertaken various efforts to fight for justice for him. These efforts include conducting independent investigations, attending public hearings with Commission III of the DPR, and submitting a Type B report to Bareskrim Polri.

“TAUD’s investigation has identified at least 16 field perpetrators, further strengthening my rejection of resolution through military courts,” Andrie says.

He states that various case resolutions that sacrifice civil society—such as forced disappearances, murders, torture, and domestic violence by TNI personnel through military courts—have never found points of justice, accountability, and comprehensive institutional responsibility up to the highest command.

Andrie asserts that this will only prolong the track record of impunity. According to Andrie, President Prabowo needs to form an independent Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF) to bring this case to civilian courts.

Thus, the attack case against him can be opened transparently and accountably to all involved parties up to the intellectual actors.

Andrie considers the resolution process in military courts invalid because from the start there has been no transparency of information regarding the results of investigations and prosecutions by the TNI Military Police Centre. “In connection with that, I hope the state does not take steps that will obscure the legal process,” Andrie says.

He adds, “As a victim of military personnel violence, I ask the President of the Republic of Indonesia to immediately form a TGPF and decide that this case should be resolved in civilian courts.”

Andrie asks Prabowo to ensure that the handling of this case proceeds accountably and adheres to the principles of due process of law by placing civilian courts as the legitimate, credible, and corruption-free forum.

“This case is not just about me, but about the state’s commitment to protecting its citizens and upholding the law fairly,” Andrie states.
