The National Central General Hospital dr Cipto Mangunkusumo (RSCM) has revealed the latest condition of Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS). RSCM’s Legal Manager and Public Relations Officer, Yoga Nara, stated that Andrie remains under monitoring by a multidisciplinary medical team comprising plastic surgery specialists, ophthalmologists, psychiatrists, and related healthcare professionals to ensure the recovery process proceeds optimally and continuously. “Overall, the patient’s condition is currently stable and showing gradual clinical improvement,” Yoga said in an official statement received by Tempo on Wednesday, 8 April 2026. The burns suffered by Andrie have also seen significant improvement. Yoga explained that most of the burn areas have been treated through grafting or skin transplant procedures. On 7 April 2026, Andrie underwent further surgery to clean residual dead skin tissue in the back neck area and additional skin grafting to support optimal healing. Andrie’s eye condition is still in the advanced treatment phase. Yoga revealed that Andrie’s eyeball is covered using membrane tissue (tenon and conjunctiva), with temporary suturing of the eyelids to protect the eyeball structure and accelerate the healing process. “Ultrasonography (USG) examination results show that the posterior wall of the eyeball remains intact,” Yoga stated. Yoga said this eye covering plan will be implemented for approximately 4 to 6 months. The medical team also periodically evaluates using eye USG to monitor overall progress. From a psychological perspective, Andrie’s condition is monitored as fairly stable. Yoga said Andrie is adapting well, being cooperative during treatment, and showing realistic optimism towards the recovery process. To date, no signs of serious psychological disorders have been found. “The medical team, along with related professionals, continues to provide routine psychological support to both the patient and family to ensure the recovery process is comprehensive,” Yoga stated. Andrie was the victim of an attempted murder on Thursday night, 12 March 2026, at around 23:37 WIB on Jalan Salemba I Talang, Central Jakarta. Two unidentified individuals doused Andrie Yunus with acid, causing burns to more than 20 percent of the right side of his body. Officers then took Andrie Yunus to the RSCM Emergency Installation (IGD) for medical treatment.
