Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, Andrie Yunus, has expressed thanks to all parties for their support in following up on the acid attack case against him. Andrie described the acid attackers as cowards.

“Hello friends, thank you for all forms of support given to me in facing terror from cowardly individuals,” Andrie said in an audio recording shared by KontraS via its Instagram account, as seen on Friday (3/4/2026).

Andrie stated that he will remain strong and resilient. Of course, he said, this is due to the full support from various parties.

“I will remain strong, remain resilient, of course with the full support from all of you friends, a luta continua! Long live the struggle!” said Andrie.

KontraS in that post stated that Andrie’s audio recording was taken on 1 April 2026. KontraS noted that Andrie is currently still in intensive care in the HCU room at RSCM.

“This audio recording was taken on 1 April 2026. Andrie Yunus is currently still in intensive care in the HCU room. Both the patient, family, legal representatives, and hospital parties prohibit visits from anyone,” wrote KontraS.

“The patient has the right to safe, quality health services, as well as protection of privacy and peace during the treatment period, and this is guaranteed by law,” it added.

As is known, Andrie Yunus became a victim of an acid attack on Thursday night (12/3). Puspom TNI then arrested four people suspected of being the perpetrators of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. All four are known to be members of Denma Bais TNI from the Navy (AL) and Air Force (AU) branches.

“We convey that all four suspected perpetrators are members of Denma Bais TNI, not from any unit, but from Denma Bais TNI,” said TNI Puspom Chief Major General TNI Yusri Nuryanto during a press conference at TNI Headquarters, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/3).

The four suspects are initialled NDP, SL, BHW, and ES. Puspom TNI is currently conducting further investigations.

Recently, the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) has urged the TNI to carry out the investigation into the acid attack case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus transparently. Komnas HAM even requested that the perpetrators’ identities be announced to the public.

“Komnas HAM encourages transparency in the law enforcement process, including immediately announcing the perpetrators’ identities to the public, involving external supervision in the law enforcement process, providing access to Komnas HAM to meet and request statements from the suspects,” said Komnas HAM commissioner Saurlin P Siagian to reporters on Friday (3/4).

Komnas HAM is known to have requested information from several TNI officials regarding the handling of this acid terror case. Komnas HAM requested information from the Puspom Chief, Deputy Head of the HAM Division, and Deputy Head of Public Relations along with their staff.
