Andrie Yunus Doused with Caustic Mixture: Used Battery Acid Combined with Rust Remover

The Military Prosecutor II-07 Jakarta stated that the liquid thrown at the Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), Andrie Yunus, was a mixture of used battery acid and rust remover fluid. The dousing was carried out by Serda Edi Sudarko (ES), Lettu Budhi Hariyanto Widhi (BHW), Kapten Nandala Dwi Prasetia (NDP), and Lettu Sami Lakka (SL). During the prosecution’s statement at the trial, it was disclosed that on 12 March 2026 at 16:30 WIB, Edi and Budhi headed to the Detachment Headquarters (Denma) BAIS TNI vehicle workshop. That liquid was used to douse Andrie. “The defendant then mixed the two liquids into a purple tumbler glass with a black lid, which he brought from his room,” said Military Prosecutor Lieutenant Colonel Chk Muhammad Iswadi during the prosecution statement at the Military Court II-08 on Wednesday (29/4/2026). The tumbler was wrapped in a black plastic bag and hung on the front of a motorcycle. Initially, Edi intended to punch Andrie as a lesson for forcing his way into a meeting discussing revisions to the TNI law at a hotel. However, Budhi suggested dousing him with the concocted caustic liquid. Edi agreed to carry out the dousing on Andrie Yunus. Budhi and Nandala, upon hearing the proposal, also approved it. Subsequently, Edi searched for information about Andrie Yunus’s activities via Google. From the search results, it was learned that Andrie Yunus had a routine agenda of participating in the Kamisan action at Monas. However, upon arriving at Monas, the defendants did not find Andrie’s whereabouts. They then searched for Andrie in other locations. Upon arriving at Tugu Tani in Central Jakarta, Edi and Budhi separated from Nandala and Sami.
