Andrea Bocelli Concert Ticket Advertisements Still Circulating
JAKARTA — Digital advertisements selling tickets for Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who is scheduled to perform at Borobudur in Magelang, Central Java, on Saturday, 31 October 2026, are still circulating. Ticket listings and promotional flyers for Bocelli’s 2026 Romanza 30th Anniversary World Tour concert remain accessible despite recent public opposition, particularly from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
On the Injourney Destination website—the brand responsible for managing Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko Temple Tourism Parks—the organisers describe the concert as offering “a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience, featuring one of the world’s most famous classical singers, who will perform timeless opera works, Romanza classics and his iconic crossover songs”.
If it goes ahead, Indonesia is said to be the sole host country in South-east Asia, and the first to host the event. “Enjoy Andrea Bocelli live in Indonesia as part of the Romanza 30th Anniversary World Tour 2026,” the advertisement says.
However, the ticket-purchase option shown in the advertisement cannot be accessed. Republika tried to contact the concert’s contact centre, but it could not be reached before this report was published.
MUI opposition
The Indonesian Ulema Council has reiterated its opposition to the proposed Andrea Bocelli concert in Indonesia. It has urged the government to announce its decision promptly to prevent uncertainty in the community, particularly over the issue of Palestine.
Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim, head of the MUI’s foreign relations division, said the opposition was based on the council’s findings that Bocelli had been involved in fundraising for Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (Friends of IDF) in 2010. According to Sudarnoto, funds raised at the event were dedicated to the Israeli military.
