Andre The Doctor, Supplier of Drugs to Ko Erwin, Captured in Malaysia Since 2024
Fugitive in the drug case, Andre Fernando alias Charlie alias The Doctor, has ended his flight after being arrested in Malaysia. Andre was captured while alone in an apartment.
“His arrest was carried out yesterday afternoon in an apartment in Penang, Malaysia,” said the Head of the NIC Task Force, Commissioner Kevin Leleury, to reporters at Bareskrim Polri in South Jakarta on Monday (6/4/2026).
In the arrest, Bareskrim Polri collaborated with the International Relations Division, Interpol, and the Indonesian Consulate General in Malaysia. When arrested, Andre did not resist.
“There was no resistance, but we coordinated with Interpol. So they carried out the action in Malaysia,” he explained.
Leleury said Andre had been in Malaysia for a long time. In other words, while attempting to assist drug lord Ko Erwin, he was already there.
“From the interrogation results since 2024, Andre alias Charlie alias The Doctor has been in Malaysia,” he stated.
Subsequently, the police secured several pieces of evidence during Andre’s arrest. Now, Andre has been brought to Jakarta.
“The evidence secured in Penang was just a bag and several mobile phones,” he said.
Drug Supplier to Ko Erwin
Previously, Andre Fernando was a wanted suspect in the narcotics case involving drug lord Ko Erwin. The Ko Erwin case also implicated former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro and former Head of Bima City Police Narcotics Unit AKP Malaungi.
Andre is said to be the figure who supplied the methamphetamine purchased by Ko Erwin for distribution in the Bima area, NTB. Ko Erwin is known to have conducted two transactions with Andre in January 2026.
The first transaction was worth Rp 400 million for 2 kg of methamphetamine. Then, the second transaction was Rp 400 million for 3 kg of methamphetamine received.
Director of Narcotics at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated that Andre is known by the nickname ‘The Doctor’. He acted as a distributor who imported drugs into Indonesia via land routes and cargo.
“Ko Andre or ‘The Doctor’ supplied various types of drugs, including methamphetamine, vapes containing etomidate, and happy water,” said Eko in his statement.
Ko Andre, continued Eko, had a network in the Riau area. He imported vape cartridges containing etomidate branded Ferrari and Lamborghini via sea routes from Malaysia through Dumai, Riau.
“Whereas for methamphetamine shipments, they mostly used cash cargo that was packed and inserted into dolls, then wrapped in gift boxes,” Eko revealed.
