Andre Rosiade Visits Kampung Lapai, Distributes 500 Sembako and Listens to Residents’ Aspirations
Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the DPR RI from the Gerindra faction, Andre Rosiade, distributed 500 sembako packages to residents of Kampung Lapai, Nanggalo District, Padang City, on Thursday (5 March). The event at Baiturrahim Mosque, Kampung Lapai, also provided an opportunity for Andre to foster ties, absorb residents’ aspirations, and outline central government development programmes in West Sumatra, including post-Galodo disaster recovery at the end of 2025.
During the event, Andre was accompanied by Mastilizal Aye, Deputy Speaker of the Padang City DPRD from the Gerindra faction, and Kampung Lapai Lurah Ardianus. Hundreds of residents attended and engaged in direct dialogue with Andre.
Andre emphasised the central government’s commitment under President Prabowo Subianto to accelerate development and infrastructure recovery in West Sumatra. He said the government has prepared a large budget for rebuilding disaster-affected areas.
“Alhamdulillah, the central government under President Prabowo Subianto has prepared a budget of around Rp18.9 trillion to assist the reconstruction of West Sumatra, particularly in areas affected by natural disasters. This is a serious signal of the central government’s attention to the people of Sumbar,” Andre said in a written statement on Thursday (5 March 2026).
Andre also highlighted the handling of the clean-water crisis in Padang City in the aftermath of the disaster. He noted that in December 2025 the central government disbursed Rp92 billion to repair the PDAM system which had been severely damaged.
“When the PDAM Padang water supply failed completely due to the disaster, the central government promptly stepped in. By December 2025 around Rp92 billion had been allocated to repair PDAM so that clean-water services could return to normal,” he said.
In addition, the central government is preparing two new SPAM (Water Supply System) sites. For SPAM Palukahan in Kecamatan Koto Tangah, Rp308 billion has been allocated and is planned to commence this year. Meanwhile SPAM Gunung Pangilun in Kampung Koto is planned with an budget of around Rp400 billion to replace old infrastructure that was damaged.
“This is all to ensure the people of Padang City have better access to clean water in the future,” he said.
Andre also touched on the condition of several roads in West Sumatra, many of which are provincial roads. He argued that if repairs relied solely on the APBD, the work could take a long time, so the central government, via the APBN, would intervene to accelerate development.
Several central-government priority projects cited by Andre include the construction of Malalak Road with a total budget of Rp670 billion, to be disbursed in stages: Rp370 billion in 2026 and Rp300 billion in 2027. The government has also allocated Rp275 billion for the Alahan Panjang-Bayang road to open a new route from Solok Regency to Pesisir Selatan Regency without passing through Sitinjau Lauik or Padang. Another highlighted project is the improvement of the Padang Lua-Maninjau road, particularly Kelok 44, with an estimated budget of around Rp300 billion.
Andre said the recovery of the Lembah Anai area would also be undertaken with a project value of around Rp500 billion. “The target is for the Lembah Anai route to be usable 24 hours a day during the upcoming Eid exodus, with normal completion targeted for June 2026,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mastilizal Aye expressed appreciation for Andre’s efforts to push development in West Sumatra.
“What Mr. Andre is doing in West Sumatra is extraordinary. A member of the DPR, like a governor. When funds are scarce, Mr. Andre is there. When development is lacking, as at Sitinjau Lauik and elsewhere, Mr. Andre is there in West Sumatra,” said Mastilizal Aye.
He also prayed that Andre would remain healthy. “May he always be healthy and blessed by Allah. Hopefully what he does for the people of Sumbar will become charity,” he added.
Ardianus also expressed thanks for the assistance. He said Kampung Lapai has received aid on several occasions, including during floods. “Alhamdulillah, thank you Mr. Andre Rosiade for coming to our area and providing sembako to residents. This is very helpful to the community. May this aid be a blessing and beneficial to us all,” said Ardianus.
