Andre Rosiade Provides Development Funds for Pekanbaru Youth Ambassadors 2026 Finalists
Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Faction, Andre Rosiade, attended the Grand Final of the Pekanbaru Youth Ambassadors (Bujang Dara) 2026 competition held at the Pekanbaru Public Service Mall (MPP) on Saturday evening (20/6). Andre was accompanied by his wife, Nurul Anastasia, at the direct invitation of Pekanbaru Mayor Agung Nugroho.
Andre’s presence drew attention at the prestigious event, which featured 24 of Pekanbaru’s top finalists. Amidst the enthusiasm of thousands of supporters who packed the venue, Andre gave special appreciation to all participants by presenting development funds of Rp1 million each, totalling Rp24 million.
On the final night, the judging panel selected M. Gilang Vebrio as Bujang Pekanbaru 2026 and Revika Sari as Dara Pekanbaru 2026. Andre stated that the finalists who had dared to appear and compete were already winners in their own right, and therefore all participants deserved recognition for the effort and dedication they had shown.
"I congratulate all the finalists, especially the selected Bujang and Dara Pekanbaru 2026. I hope they will not only become tourism ambassadors but also the face of Pekanbaru’s young generation, capable of promoting the region’s potential and helping to attract investment and development to this city," Andre said in a statement on Sunday (21/6/2026).
The Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Minang Family Association (IKM) reaffirmed his commitment to continue supporting Pekanbaru’s development through various ongoing and planned programmes. These range from assisting with the construction of primary school classrooms and promoting the use of state-owned enterprise CSR programmes, to advocating for infrastructure development through the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) scheme.
"We want Pekanbaru to continue progressing. Therefore, we will keep synergising with the Pekanbaru City Government in various development programmes that directly benefit the community," said Andre, who also serves as chairman of the Gerindra Regional Leadership Council for West Sumatra.
Meanwhile, Agung Nugroho expressed his appreciation for Andre Rosiade’s presence and support for various development programmes in Pekanbaru. In his speech, Agung referred to Andre as a national figure who had greatly assisted Pekanbaru in a short time.
"He has been with us for several days and has already provided a great deal of assistance to Pekanbaru. He went directly to primary schools and provided nearly Rp2 billion in aid for several schools. This is truly extraordinary and we are very grateful," Agung said before thousands of participants and invited guests.
Agung also emphasised that the Bujang Dara event is not merely a competition to select attractive young men and women. According to him, the finalists represent the best young generation with insight, character, manners, and a love for Pekanbaru.
"We hope these ambassadors can later introduce Pekanbaru to the wider community. When people ask about Pekanbaru, they will be able to explain the potential, culture, and various advancements this city possesses," Agung stated.
The Grand Final of Bujang Dara Pekanbaru 2026 took place festively with full community support. The event was part of the Pekanbaru City Anniversary celebrations and served as a platform for the young generation to showcase their abilities, insights, and love for their region.
