Andre Rosiade Provides Assistance to Driver Suffering from Pinched Nerve in Padang
Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra Faction, Andre Rosiade, has shown his concern for residents in need. He handed over assistance amounting to IDR 10 million to Rully Defniyanto (53), a box truck driver who has suffered from a pinched nerve for six years.
The aid was delivered directly by Andre during a visit to Rully’s residence in Kurao Pagang Ward, Nanggalo Subdistrict, Padang City, on Monday (20/4/2026).
Andre stated that the assistance was provided to help cover Rully’s medical costs, as he has faced limitations in his activities due to his condition. As the family breadwinner with four children still in school, Rully’s health issues have also impacted the family’s economy.
“I hope this assistance can help with medical expenses and ease the family’s burden. The important thing is to stay spirited and keep striving for recovery. We have experienced something similar and understand how painful it is,” said Andre in a written statement on Monday (20/4/2026).
It is known that Rully has undergone two pinched nerve surgeries in recent years. However, pain still frequently recurs, limiting his mobility. Even simple activities like standing and walking for extended periods often cause discomfort.
During the dialogue, Andre also shared his personal experience of undergoing two pinched nerve surgeries. He claimed to have recovered through follow-up therapy and physiotherapy.
Rully, born in Solok, works daily as a box truck driver to meet his family’s needs. He lives with his wife, Paridawati (44), and four children who are still students. With all children pursuing education, the family’s economic burden has grown heavier since Rully fell ill.
Andre also provided motivation for Rully to continue regular treatment and not give up in facing his illness. He even encouraged Rully to consider follow-up therapy or medical procedures recommended by doctors.
Mastilizal Aye expressed admiration for Andre’s attention to the people of West Sumatra, particularly in Padang City.
“I don’t know how many aids Chairman Andre Rosiade has provided to residents of Padang City and West Sumatra. And this will continue. Thank you very much, Chairman,” said Mastilizal.
The assistance was received with emotion by Rully’s family. They hope this support can accelerate the treatment process so that Rully can return to health and work as before.
This concern for residents facing health difficulties is seen as tangible proof of the presence of people’s representatives among the community.
“Alhamdulillah, thank you Mr Andre Rosiade. For coming to our home and providing assistance. May Mr Andre always be healthy and successful in his career. This is very helpful for our medical expenses later,” he concluded.
