Andre Rosiade Meets Telkomsel CEO, Pushes for BTS Tower Construction in Langgai
Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Andre Rosiade, met with Telkomsel’s CEO Nugroho. The meeting was aimed at advocating for the construction of a BTS tower in the Langgai area, Nagari Gantiang Mudiak Utara Surantih, Sutera Subdistrict, South Pesisir Regency (Pessel), West Sumatra.
The meeting took place at Telkomsel Tower, Jakarta, on Monday (27/4/2026). Andre stated that the people of Langgai are still experiencing limited signal access to this day.
Andre said that building the BTS in Langgai is not just an infrastructure project. However, it is also an urgent need for the community so that they no longer lag behind.
This Gerindra politician hopes that the people of Langgai can soon emerge from their status as a blank spot area and enter the era of digital connectivity if the BTS tower construction is realised in the near future.
“Today we came directly to meet the Telkomsel CEO to fight for the BTS construction in Langgai. The people there still do not enjoy signal coverage up to now. This must become a joint priority,” said Andre Rosiade in his statement on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
The Chairman General of the DPP of the Minang Family Association (IKM) said that the presence of telecommunications networks is a basic right of the community in the digital era. Andre hopes that Telkomsel can soon realise the construction of that tower.
“We request that the BTS construction in Langgai be prioritised. The community really needs it. This is also in line with President Prabowo’s directive that development should reach all regions of Indonesia,” he stated.
Telkomsel CEO Nugroho admitted he is ready to follow up on that aspiration. This is similar to what was done on the request from residents through Andre Rosiade two weeks ago, regarding the Telkomsel BTS construction in Nagari Galugua, Kapur IX Subdistrict, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, which has also been followed up.
“Surveys have already been conducted. Insya Allah, at most three months,” said Nugroho.
Andre welcomed the good news. Andre assured that he will continue to monitor the process until the BTS construction is truly realised and the community can soon enjoy decent cellular network services.
“This is not just about signal, but about development justice. We want the people of Langgai to feel the presence of the state and enjoy progress like other regions in Indonesia,” he emphasised.
