Andre Rosiade Meets Padang's Group 11 Hajj Pilgrims, Distributes Riyals and Even Cakes

Andre Rosiade visited the lodging of Hajj pilgrims on Wednesday (20 May) at around 10:00 local time. In addition to distributing meals and beverages, he provided financial assistance to 390 pilgrims of Group 11 Padang, giving each pilgrim 50 riyals for a total of 20,000 riyals (Rp 94 million).

Andre also spoke with the pilgrims, collecting a number of complaints, including a mother who was separated from her husband due to being in a different tower and floor while he is sick. He said he had immediately communicated with the sector head, who then sent the sector secretary to handle it. “Insya Allah it is being addressed; the mother can move to be with her husband in the same tower to care for him,” he said, in a statement received by detikcom on Thursday, 21 May 2026.

He noted there was also a complaint about catering. The Hajj pilgrims from West Sumatra want green vegetables served more regularly. The current menu often includes mushrooms and tempeh. When vegetables are served, they are usually carrots, green beans, or long beans.

“Nah, my fellow pilgrims are asking for vegetables. It has been communicated; Insya Allah we will push for West Sumatra residents to be given green vegetables,” he said.

Regarding other services, the Group 11 Padang pilgrims generally expressed satisfaction, including with transportation, although the Al Hidayah hotel is the farthest from Masjid al-Haram; travel time is about 20 minutes.

“That was the result of the meeting with the West Sumatra community. Tomorrow I will go to Tower 8 again for another batch,” he concluded.
