Andre Rosiade: DPR Commission VI Fully Supports Prabowo's Move to Establish a State-Owned Enterprise for Natural Resource Exports
Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) from the Gerindra faction, Andre Rosiade, voiced support for President Prabowo Subianto’s move to establish PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI), a dedicated export state-owned enterprise. Andre considered the policy a strategic step to close the government’s revenue losses from natural resource exports.
‘We in Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives fully support the President’s move to form PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia. This is the right step to ensure that the governance of Indonesia’s natural resource exports becomes more transparent, accountable, and beneficial to the state,’ he said, on Friday (22/6/2026).
According to him, the government previously revealed potential losses due to under invoicing or manipulation of export invoice values and transfer pricing abroad. He said these practices were alleged to be one of the main causes of the country’s wealth leakage. ‘President Prabowo has highlighted this problem. The potential losses to the state are said to reach 150 billion US dollars. We have even heard explanations from the government regarding differences in export and import data for key commodities such as palm oil. This cannot continue,’ said the head of the DPP Ikatan Keluarga Minang (IKM).
‘The Deputy Chair of the Gerindra Faction said the establishment of the export state-owned enterprise will be an important national instrument in supervising the trade of strategic commodities such as palm oil and other natural resources. So that fraud by companies in export transactions does not occur again. ’This government’s move is very appropriate. With integrated supervision and management of exports, we want to ensure that there are no more fraudulent practices that harm the state and the regions. This is also a tangible manifestation of the implementation of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution that natural wealth is used for the greatest prosperity of the people,’ asserted the Chairman of the Gerindra Party’s Sumbar regional leadership council (DPD).
‘Andre said that for a long time a lot of foreign exchange earned from natural resource exports has been stored abroad. He said that with PT DSI, all export transactions can return to the national financial system and strengthen Indonesia’s foreign exchange reserves. ’If these export transactions re-enter Indonesia, the country’s foreign exchange reserves automatically increase. For a long time, much of the funds were parked overseas. With this new system, the dollars from exports return to Indonesia and that will help strengthen the rupiah’s exchange rate,’ he said.
Andre believes that strengthening the nation’s foreign exchange reserves will have a positive impact on the national economy, including the rupiah’s value against the US dollar. ‘If the foreign exchange reserves are strong, of course it will affect the rupiah’s exchange rate. We hope the rupiah will strengthen and the national economy will become more stable,’ he said.
His side, Andre said, will continue to guard the policy so that it achieves its original objectives and benefits the country and the people. ‘Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives will fully oversee this policy to ensure the management of Indonesia’s natural resource exports becomes better, more transparent, and in the nation’s interest,’ he concluded.
