Andre Rosiade Distributes 500 Sembako Packages for Ramadan Needs of Jati Residents

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives’ Commission VI, from the Gerindra faction, Andre Rosiade, distributed 500 staple-food packages to residents of Jati, Padang Timur sub-district, Padang city, on Thursday, 5 March. The aid was channelled to support residents’ needs ahead of Ramadan.

Rosiade said the distribution of sembako was a form of care for the community. He hoped the assistance would ease the burden on residents, particularly in meeting daily needs ahead of the fasting month.

‘Today we are distributing sembako for residents of Jati, Padang Timur. Hopefully this aid will be useful in meeting their needs ahead of the fasting month. This is a form of service from us as Gerindra Party cadres to the community,’ he said in a written statement on Saturday, 7 March 2026.

Rosiade also noted that the sharing activity would continue in various areas in West Sumatra. He said Ramadan is an appropriate moment to strengthen togetherness and social care.

‘We want to continue to be present among the community. We hope this aid can help daily needs and inspire us all to share,’ he said, though he did not have time to speak with residents in Jati.

In the event, Rosiade was accompanied by Rachmad Wijaya, Secretary of Commission II of the Padang City DPRD from the Gerindra faction. Rachmad apologised to residents and the organisers because Rosiade could not stay longer at the site. He said Rosiade had only brief stops before continuing to PT Semen Padang in Indarung and the Sumbar High Prosecutor’s Office.

‘He dropped in briefly, then proceeded to PT Semen Padang in Indarung and the Sumbar High Prosecutor’s Office, so he did not have time to stay long at the location,’ explained Rachmad, a representative from Dapil V Padang Timur and Padang Selatan.

After that, Rachmad continued distributing the sembako to the community. Residents praised the aid delivered by Rosiade ahead of Ramadan.

‘Alhamdulillah, we thank Mr. Andre Rosiade for giving staple-food packages to the people of Jati. This aid is certainly very beneficial for residents, especially ahead of Ramadan,’ said one resident receiving the assistance.

For information, the event was also attended by IK M (Ikatan Keluarga Minang) Secretary-General Braditi Moulevey, and several local community leaders.
