Deputy Chairman of House Commission VI Andre Rosiade continued his social outreach by distributing staple food packages to communities in West Sumatra. Together with Pariaman Mayor Yota Balad, Andre distributed 1,000 packages to residents of the Pasir Lohong tourism village in East Pariaman district.

The aid, distributed on Saturday (21/2), was enthusiastically received by hundreds of residents, the majority of whom work as fishermen and traders in the coastal area. Andre affirmed that although Pariaman is not part of Electoral District I, which he represents, attention to communities in Electoral District II remains his commitment.

As Chairman of the Gerindra Party’s West Sumatra regional board, Andre stated that all areas across the province must benefit from the various programmes he champions.

“Although we are from Electoral District I, Pariaman remains a place where we share and bring development programmes. Beyond distributing staple goods, we have also helped build a Telkomsel BTS tower and renovated two sports halls in Pariaman, namely the Rawang Sports Hall and the Sutan Rajo Bujang Sports Hall,” Andre said in a written statement on Sunday (22/2/2026).

Andre added that before visiting Pasir Lohong, he had already distributed 5,000 staple food packages at the Pariaman Mayor’s Pavilion. The 1,000 packages at Pasir Lohong formed part of a series of events marking the Gerindra Party’s 18th anniversary, as well as an effort to help communities cope with rising costs ahead of Ramadan.

“In accordance with the directive of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto, all cadres must be of benefit to society. To date, we have distributed approximately 65,000 staple food packages at various locations across West Sumatra,” Andre added.

In addition to the food packages, Andre also provided cash assistance to support community organisations and taklim (religious study) groups in the Pasir Lohong area.

Meanwhile, Pariaman Mayor Yota Balad expressed his appreciation for Andre Rosiade’s concern, which he described as consistently helping communities, including during the galodo (flash flood) disaster some time ago. On that occasion, Andre also distributed 5,000 staple food packages to affected residents.

“Thank you to Pak Andre Rosiade, who has done so much to help us in Pariaman. The Telkomsel BTS tower construction will be completed shortly. We hope Pak Andre can return to inaugurate it. The assistance provided has been very meaningful for the community,” said Yota Balad.

Community leader Riko Kurnia Putra of Pasir Lohong also expressed his gratitude, noting that the food packages were a great help to residents, particularly ahead of Ramadan and Eid when household expenses increase.

“Thank you, Pak Andre Rosiade. We have received the staple food packages and residents are greatly helped. We pray that Pak Andre and his family are always healthy and successful,” he said, speaking on behalf of the residents who were enthusiastic to meet Andre Rosiade and his wife, Nurul Anastasia.
