Andre Rosiade: Catering Prices Fall, Quality Improves; Prabowo Right to Form Hajj and Umrah Ministry

Prices have fallen, but quality has increased. That deserves appreciation, said Andre in a written statement on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.

Andre then compared the price of Hajj meals for 2025 and 2026. Although prices fell, he noted there were additional meal portions this year.

‘The year 2025 for three meals priced at 40 riyals. The year 2026 for three meals is priced at 36 riyals. There is a price drop of 4 riyals from the previous year. However, the quality has improved. In 2025 the rice portion was 150 grams, the meat portion 75 grams, and the vegetables 80 grams. In 2026 the rice portion is 170 grams, the meat portion 80 grams, and the vegetables 75 grams,’ Andre said.

He also noted there would be additional pudding and milk for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims this year. He said last year pilgrims only received fruit.

‘In 2025 the accompaniments consisted only of fruits; in 2026, in addition to fruits, there is milk and pudding. Milk is 200 ml and pudding 75 ml,’ he said.

Andre said the formation of the Hajj Ministry by Prabowo is the right step. For information, Hajj in 2026 will be the first season overseen by the Hajj Ministry.

‘This shows that President Prabowo’s choice to form the Hajj and Umrah Ministry is the right one, because catering prices have fallen yet the quality of the catering has increased significantly. Therefore we should applaud the government of President Prabowo, that Mr Prabowo as president is very suitable for this Hajj and Umrah Ministry to improve Hajj services,’ Andre said.
