Andre Rosiade: Bobby Nasution is a Hardworking Governor
Medan (ANTARA) - The Chairman of the DPP Minangkabau Family Association, Andre Rosiade, stated that Bobby Nasution is a hardworking Governor in building North Sumatra (Sumut).
“Mr Bobby is extraordinary, a hardworking Governor,” said Andre during the inauguration of the North Sumatra Regional Board of the Minangkabau Family Association 2024-2029 at the North Sumatra Governor’s Office on Saturday.
Andre, who also serves as the Vice Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), noted that Governor Bobby Nasution has successfully implemented developments in infrastructure, education, and health. These developments are made possible by the North Sumatra Regional Budget (APBD), which is significantly larger than that of West Sumatra.
“North Sumatra’s regional budget is twice that of West Sumatra. Therefore, we cannot match the budgetary strength of North Sumatra,” he said.
Through this budgetary strength, he continued, Governor Bobby Nasution is able to present various strategic regional projects, including a breakthrough plan for road construction towards Berastagi. “He will utilise a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) concept based on the regional budget, because the North Sumatra budget is extraordinary. This step is a remarkable breakthrough that provides a positive impact on the regional economy,” Andre remarked.
Furthermore, the Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, intends to complete the construction of the toll road to Lake Toba, as well as a connected railway line from Aceh to North Sumatra. “God willing, he will accelerate this soon,” said Andre.
Nevertheless, he noted that West Sumatra will also construct the Sicincin to Bukittinggi toll road by the end of this year, with a budget of Rp29 trillion sourced from the State Budget (APBN).
He also invited the members of the Minangkabau Family Association and other Minang residents to support the North Sumatra Provincial Government’s development efforts. “I also hope the North Sumatra Provincial Government expands connectivity and creates broader employment opportunities for migrants, particularly for the Minang community,” Andre explained.
Governor Bobby Nasution invited the Minangkabau community to explore the potential of the halal industry as an economic driver and to address welfare issues. “There is potential from the religious community side that we have rarely touched, namely the halal industry within our region. Today, the President has established a dedicated agency,” said Bobby.
He added that the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has optimised the role of the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), which now holds a ministerial-level status. “The halal agency, which people previously only knew as a place for halal certification, is more than that; it is about how we can tap into the potential of the halal industry in our region,” he explained.
The Governor also acknowledged that the Minangkabau people are capable of thriving in regions outside their ancestral homes through adaptation. “By adapting and building communities, we can revitalise the economy,” Bobby concluded.
