Deputy Chair of House Commission VI Andre Rosiade has backed the continuation of the Red-and-White Village and Neighbourhood Cooperatives (KDKMP). He hopes Cooperatives Minister Ferry Juliantono can make the KDKMP programme deliver tangible benefits to the people.

Andre made the remarks during a working meeting with Minister Ferry at Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/7/2026). He initially spoke about the accountability of financial management.

“Commission VI views that the accountability of financial management is not only measured by administrative compliance, but also by the effectiveness of budget utilisation in terms of the outputs produced, the benefits as outcomes, and the impact that supports strengthening cooperative institutions and improving public welfare,” Andre said during the meeting.

He expressed hope that the working meeting with the Cooperatives Minister could serve as a moment to evaluate the ministry’s budget, particularly regarding the sustainability of the KDKMP programme.

“This discussion is also an opportunity to evaluate budget support for the implementation of the Cooperatives Ministry’s various strategic programmes, especially the development of the Red-and-White Village and Neighbourhood Cooperatives as one of the national priority programmes,” Andre said.

In his view, the success of the KDKMP programme should not be judged solely by the number of cooperatives established. Rather, success must be measured by the benefits produced.

“Commission VI considers that the success of the programme is not only measured by the number of cooperatives formed, but by institutional readiness, governance, mentoring, human resource capacity building, access to financing and digitalisation, as well as the operational sustainability of the cooperatives — so that they can carry out activities productively and generate economic benefits for their members and the wider community,” he said.
