The inauguration took place on Sunday (10/5/2026). Attending the event were Agam DPRD member Novi Irwan, Malalak Ulya Subdistrict Head Satar, various nagari heads, niniak mamak, community leaders, and Telkomsel representatives including Surya Firdaus as Manager of Network Operations in Bukittinggi, Galuh Ranggakusuma as Manager of Mobile Consumer Branch in Bukittinggi, Hafiz Alsatori as Supervisor of Territory Mobile Business in Bukittinggi, and Baihaqi Firmansyah as Engineer of Network Operations in Bukittinggi.

In his speech, Andre stressed that developing telecommunications infrastructure is a form of responsibility from people’s representatives to the community that has entrusted them with the mandate.

“So, we reiterate this: as DPR members, we assist Agam Regency not because we want to run for governor. Our duty is to be elected by the people. Once elected, we must serve. Once elected, we must execute,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Faction in the DPR RI.

Andre mentioned that aspirations for BTS development in various areas of West Sumatra continue to be advocated together with regional heads and nagari heads. According to him, many areas that were previously not development priorities have now been realised after direct advocacy to Telkomsel.

“Sometimes these areas are considered not a priority due to budget constraints. Our task is to push so that non-priority areas can be built soon,” said the Chairman General of the Minang Family Association (IKM).

Andre targets resolving blank spot issues in West Sumatra gradually by 2029. For West Sumatra 2, several priority points include Galugua in Kapur IX and Koto Tinggi Tambago PDRI in Lima Puluh Kota Regency.

Andre Rosiade also appreciated Telkomsel’s hard work in helping reduce blank spots in 19 regencies and cities in West Sumatra. “Alhamdulillah, Telkomsel has worked hard to help us all in West Sumatra ensure blank spots continue to decrease,” he said.

On that occasion, Andre also reminded the community to safeguard BTS assets, especially batteries and cables that are often targeted by thieves. He asked nagari apparatus and the community to actively monitor people who come claiming to be Telkomsel staff.

“The most expensive part is the battery. So please guard it. Thieves usually use Telkomsel attributes as a ruse. If someone comes, photograph their ID, the person, and the motorbike to make reporting easier,” said Andre.

Agam Deputy Regent Muhammad Iqbal stated that there are still several blank spot points in Agam Regency, including in Palembayan Subdistrict, Lubuk Basung, and parts of Malalak. “We continue to request assistance from Mr Andre Rosiade on this matter to accelerate it with Telkomsel,” said the former Deputy Chairman of Commission V of the DPR.

Telkomsel’s Bukittinggi Network Operations Manager, Surya Firdaus, expressed thanks for Andre Rosiade’s full support in accelerating telecommunications network development in West Sumatra. He hopes the presence of the BTS can be maintained together by the community so its benefits can be felt in the long term.

“We thank Mr Andre Rosiade for his full support in accelerating BTS development in West Sumatra. We hope this BTS is maintained together by the community, as battery thefts still frequently occur in several locations,” he said.
