Andre Rosiade Appreciates Government for Providing Certainty on PPPK Teacher Status

Gerindra Party spokesperson Andre Rosiade has expressed appreciation for the DPR leadership’s synergy with the government in providing certainty over the status of teachers employed as Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK). Andre said PPPK teachers have received justice.

This appreciation follows a coordination meeting and finalisation of the policy on managing the employment status of PPPK teachers, led by Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad together with relevant ministries. One of the decisions is that part-time PPPK teachers will be given the opportunity to become full-time PPPK teachers in 2027.

“We from the Gerindra Faction highly appreciate the leadership of Bang Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in the DPR and the government ranks who have been responsive in resolving this issue. Certainty of status for PPPK teachers—including regulations for part-time PPPK teachers and the opportunity to be converted into ASN/PNS—is a form of justice for these unsung heroes,” said Andre Rosiade on Thursday (20/8/2026).

The Deputy Chair of the Gerindra Faction in the DPR said this step also shows that the state is present for PPPK teachers. PPPK teachers, Andre said, no longer need to worry about the clarity of their future.

“The commitment of the DPR under the leadership of Mr Dasco and the government proves that the state is truly present. For a long time, many honorary teachers and PPPK teachers have felt anxious about the clarity of their future and their welfare. This joint decision provides the legal certainty that educators across the country have long yearned for,” Andre continued.

The Secretary of the Gerindra Faction in the MPR also said the agreement between the DPR and the government is expected to bring fresh air and peace of mind for PPPK teachers. Gerindra will oversee this matter.

“Going forward, the Gerindra Faction in the DPR and MPR is ready to oversee the entire administrative transition process down to the regional level. We want to ensure there are no technical or bureaucratic obstacles hindering the implementation of this decision, so that teachers can focus fully on producing the nation’s next generation without having to worry about the clarity of their employment status,” he asserted.

Previously, Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini said the number of PPPK teachers currently stands at 955,245, while part-time PPPK teachers working as teachers number 231,246. The government also projects a national need for 526,689 teacher formations.

“Part-time PPPK teachers will be given the opportunity to become full-time PPPK teachers, which will be carried out in 2027,” said Rini.

Teachers with PPPK status will also be given the opportunity to take part in civil servant (PNS) selection, with registration expected to begin in early 2027. The Finance Minister said the scheme has undergone budget simulation and is deemed feasible while maintaining fiscal sustainability. The deficit in 2027 is still projected at around 2.4%.
