In efforts to ensure the project progresses according to targets as a continuation of the Padang-Sicincin rail line, Andre held a direct meeting with the Head of BP BUMN and COO of Danantara, Dony Oskaria.
Andre was accompanied by Hutama Karya’s President Director, Koentjoro. The meeting discussed the latest developments in the construction as well as strategic steps to accelerate the project’s completion.
“I met with the Head of BP BUMN, who is also COO of Danantara, Mr Dony Oskaria, along with Hutama Karya’s President Director, Mr Koentjoro, to report on the progress of the Sicincin-Padang toll road development plan,” said Andre in a written statement on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
Andre emphasised that the construction of this toll road is not merely an infrastructure project, but an important instrument for opening up regional access, accelerating the mobility of goods and services, and enhancing the regional economy’s competitiveness.
“This toll road is not just about infrastructure, but also about opening access, accelerating mobility, and driving regional economic growth, particularly in West Sumatra,” said Andre.
Andre also invited all elements of society to provide support so that this project can be completed soon and deliver tangible benefits.
“I request prayers and support so that this project can be finished and West Sumatra’s economic growth can catch up with the national economic growth,” said Andre.
According to him, solid collaboration between the government, state-owned enterprises, and stakeholders is the determining factor for the project’s success.
With strong synergy, Andre is optimistic that the benefits of this toll road will soon be felt by the wider community, especially in reducing logistics costs and opening new economic growth centres in West Sumatra.
The construction of the Sicincin-Bukittinggi Toll Road is an important part of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road network, which is expected to accelerate balanced development and strengthen inter-regional connectivity on the island of Sumatra.
In response, Danantara COO Dony Oskaria expressed full support from BP BUMN for accelerating the Sicincin-Bukittinggi toll road project.
Dony emphasised that this project is one of the priorities in promoting connectivity and strengthening the regional economy.
“We ensure that cross-party coordination runs optimally so that this project can be completed according to targets and provide real impacts for the community,” said the former Commissioner of Garuda Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Hutama Karya’s President Director Koentjoro affirmed his company’s efforts as the project executor to maintain quality and timeliness in construction. Koentjoro mentioned that various acceleration efforts continue to be carried out on the ground while prioritising safety aspects and construction standards.
“We are optimistic that this project can be completed in stages according to plan so that its benefits are soon felt by the people of West Sumatra,” he concluded.
