Andra Soni Urges Banten Provincial Government Offices to Save Energy
Governor of Banten, Andra Soni, has asked his subordinates to carry out efficiency in energy use and operational expenditure. He has instructed that offices and the environment of the Banten Provincial Government save on electricity as well as the use of fossil fuels.
According to Andra, the policy follows Circular Letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs Number 800.1.5/3349/SJ of 2026 on the Transformation of Civil Servant Work Culture in the Local Government Environment. Andra Soni also reminded of the importance of energy saving in the office environment as part of the new civil servant work culture.
“Electricity use must be a concern. Ensure that when leaving a room, lights and AC are turned off. This is a simple step, but it has a significant impact in responding to the current global situation,” he said on Friday (17/4/2026).
According to him, the current global situation is putting pressure on energy prices as well as world economic uncertainty that affects regions.
“Our step is to save energy use as well as efforts to efficiency related to activities that can still be postponed, in order to optimise programmes that have a direct impact on the community,” said Andra.
The Banten Provincial Government is also mapping official vehicles and studying the transformation of fossil fuel vehicles to electric vehicles.
“Currently, we do not have any procurement related to electric vehicles. But one day, it is a certainty. Especially for public interest vehicles like garbage trucks that are already decades old,” he revealed.
Even though there is efficiency, he emphasised that every government programme must provide real benefits to the community and be supported by an adaptive and digital-based work pattern.
“And ensure that public services continue to run optimally in any condition,” he said.
