Andra Soni to Implement Cambridge Curriculum in Banten's Elite School

Banten Governor Andra Soni, accompanied by the Head of the Education and Culture Department (Dindikbud) Jamaluddin, met with Cambridge representatives at the Banten Provincial Government Building in Serang City on Tuesday (12/5/2026). During the meeting, the Banten Provincial Government discussed opportunities for collaboration on implementing the international Cambridge curriculum in locally owned elite schools.

“And one of our efforts is to build cooperation and collaboration with professionals in the education sector regarding the possibility of applying the Cambridge curriculum in our schools. We will start with CMBBS,” said Andra after the meeting.

Andra stated that CMBBS will serve as a pilot for developing elite schools in Banten. In the future, the Banten Provincial Government targets having elite public schools in every regency and city.

“In the future, we want there to be elite schools in every regency and city in Banten Province. Therefore, we are working to build communication with various parties, one of which is Cambridge,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jamaluddin assessed that CMBBS is ready in terms of infrastructure and human resources to implement the elite curriculum.

“Because I think CMBBS is already prepared in terms of infrastructure, human resources, and hopefully the results of today’s meeting can be followed up immediately and serve as an example for other schools,” he said.

Jamaluddin added that the planning for the programme will be carried out this year. He hopes that the implementation of the Cambridge curriculum at CMBBS can begin in 2027.

“In the near future, we will evaluate and prepare the planning. Hopefully, this year all planning will be completed and in 2027 it can be implemented in accordance with the Governor’s instructions,” he said.
