Banten Governor Andra Soni has issued a Governor’s Instruction (Ingub) on the Clean Banten Movement. The instruction is directed at the provincial government apparatus as well as regents and mayors across Banten.

Banten Governor’s Instruction Number 2 of 2026 on the Clean Banten Movement in Tourist Areas, Rivers, Main Roads, Residential Zones, and Government Offices was signed by Andra Soni on 11 February 2026. In addition to government bodies, the instruction is also directed at business operators and managers of tourist areas, residential zones, and offices.

Andra expressed hope that the Clean Banten Movement would foster a culture of cleanliness among the public, particularly in tourist areas, rivers, main roads, residential zones, and offices. He called on all parties to implement the initiative.

“Implementing the Clean Banten Movement as a joint effort by local government, the business community, and the public, carried out on a sustainable basis in tourist areas, rivers, main roads, residential zones, and offices in accordance with respective authorities, core duties, and functions,” Andra stated in the instruction on Friday (20 February 2026).

Andra also called on regents and mayors throughout Banten Province to issue implementing instructions for the Clean Banten Movement. The initiative must involve sub-districts down to the neighbourhood association (RT/RW) level.

“[Mayors and regents must] establish routine activity schedules and carry out oversight and enforcement of regulations,” Andra said.

He also urged managers of tourist areas, business operators, and managers of residential and office complexes to maintain the cleanliness of their respective areas. They are required to provide segregated waste bins and actively participate in the programme.
