Andojo to head Trisakti law school
JAKARTA (JP): Former deputy chief justice Adi Andojo Soejipto begins his career at Jakarta's Trisakti University tomorrow when he will be installed as dean of its law school.
"I will be in the position until 2000," Adi Andojo told The Jakarta Post yesterday. He added the university had the option to extend his term, contingent on performance evaluations.
He will teach criminal code procedures beginning in the new semester in September.
"I prefer adjudicating cases to teaching. But teaching is good to sharpen your brain."
Teaching is not uncharted territory for Adi. He first taught in Cendrawasih University in Irian Jaya in 1964 while on duty in the region. He has continued part-time teaching.
Adi is also a lecturer at the University of Indonesia, teaching the subject of law interpretation in the law review discipline. His students are law school graduates who work in government offices. Adi, who has been with the university since 1990, teaches only once a week every other semester.
Adi Andojo retired as deputy chief justice for criminal affairs on May 1. He had been in the media spotlight following his allegations of widespread corruption in the Supreme Court. (sim)
