Former Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General (Ret.) Andika Perkasa has expressed appreciation for the increased level of public trust, positive image, and public satisfaction with the services of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), as indicated by a survey from Litbang Kompas. He stated that this achievement is a tangible result of the leadership of Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the hard work of all Polri personnel in carrying out reforms across various sectors.

Andika emphasised that the increase in public trust is a crucial indicator because it was obtained through a survey with a scientific methodology and randomly selected respondents. He also assessed Litbang Kompas as a highly credible survey institution, meaning its results reflect the voice of the Indonesian people.

‘It is clear that the Police Chief has shown extraordinary leadership. Public trust in Polri has increased. This is not something easy to achieve because it comes from the people’s voice through a credible survey method,’ Andika told reporters on Tuesday (30/6/2026).

Besides the rising level of public trust, Andika also highlighted the significant jump in Polri’s positive image. He revealed that last September, the police force’s image was at its lowest point in the last eleven years. However, through various reforms, the image of Polri has now increased significantly, approaching the highest achievement ever recorded in 2021.

‘This shows how much has been done by the Police Chief together with all leaders and ranks. They worked harder, exercised restraint, and carried out reforms consistently so that Polri’s image has risen sharply again. This is an extraordinary achievement,’ Andika said.

He also appreciated the increase in public satisfaction with police services and the improvement in Polri’s professionalism score across all indicators measured in the survey. According to Andika, one of the most interesting findings is that around 80 percent of respondents stated that public service facilities at police offices, from the sub-district police level to the National Police Headquarters, are now more comfortable.

His personal experience visiting several police units in East Java reinforced these findings. He witnessed firsthand the commitment of regional leaders, from the Regional Police Chief down to the Resort Police Chiefs, who continuously push for improvements in the quality of public service facilities within the police force.

‘I saw for myself how regional leaders continue to encourage improvements in public service facilities. The cohesiveness between leaders and members in improving service quality is an achievement that is not easy to attain,’ he stated.

Andika hopes that all Polri members will continue to maintain and even enhance the professionalism and public trust that has been successfully built. As a former head of a government institution and part of the extended Polri family, Andika admitted he is optimistic that the police institution will become even better in the future.

‘Polri is a law enforcement apparatus that will continue to play an important role. I believe Polri will be even better in the future. Therefore, maintain the public trust that has been built with various sacrifices and the hard work of all members. If this spirit continues to be maintained, I am sure Polri will become even greater,’ he concluded.
