KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea met with President Prabowo Subianto today. The meeting, according to Andi Gani, lasted just over two hours. In the closed session, he said Prabowo has a very high level of attention to labour issues ahead of International Labour Day celebrations.

‘Today I am very happy. Because just half an hour ago I was summoned by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. I spoke with him for more than two hours, discussing various domestic situations,’ Andi Gani said during the Ramadan Silaturahmi with the Polri at PT NOK Indonesia, Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, on Friday (6 March 2026).

‘Andi Gani said Prabowo is scheduled to attend the May Day 2026 celebrations. Not only that, the President is also slated to inaugurate the Marsinah Museum in Nganjuk on 2 May, and to inaugurate the KSPSI Training Centre in Purwakarta in June.’

’Andi Gani then spoke about the extent of Prabowo’s attention to labour issues. In the meeting, various matters relating to labour, employment, and wages were discussed in depth.

‘Imagine, two months ahead of May Day, he asked about the labour situation, employment, wages, and many other matters we discussed. This is an extraordinary commitment,’ he said.

Andi Gani confirmed that the May Day 2026 celebration at Monas, Jakarta, would also be attended by world labour leaders from five major countries.

‘World labour leaders from five major countries will join the May Day celebrations in Jakarta on 1 May. So we must, as hosts, prepare for a very remarkable May Day,’ he said.

During the occasion, Andi Gani also praised the synergy between the labour movement and Polri, particularly Kapolri General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who also serves as Chair of KSPSI’s Advisory Council.

Andi Gani noted that the support from Polri, including the Desk Ketenagakerjaan, has been very helpful in addressing the issues faced by workers.

‘We are grateful that the synergy between the labour movement and Polri is extremely strong. The Desk Ketenagakerjaan staff work very hard, even doing overtime. They receive workers in difficulty at the headquarters, and the police go down to the ground,’ Andi Gani concluded.
