Andi Arief Supports Prabowo in Seeking Solutions to Improve Economy: Democrat Party is Ready

“Our economy today certainly faces challenges,” said Andi in his statement on Friday (5/6/2026). “But in a situation like this, we must unite. We all support Mr Prabowo in seeking solutions so that our economy can improve again,” he added.

Andi expressed hope that several economic indicators would show signs of recovery, particularly the Rupiah exchange rate and the stock market. “Hopefully, our Rupiah value improves, and the stock market rises again,” he remarked.

Regarding the Democratic Party’s stance, Andi stated that his party is encouraging Prabowo to find a way forward. He noted that the party possesses several ideas and solutions should the government request them. “The Democratic Party is encouraging Mr Prabowo to find solutions. As for whether the Democratic Party has solutions? If Mr Prabowo asks the Democratic Party for them, we are ready. We are waiting for Mr Prabowo, together with the coalition, to resolve these issues,” he added.

According to data from RTI Business, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) moved in both directions at the start of trading today, Friday (5/6). The IHSG initially weakened by 0.66% to the level of 5,795.63. Shortly after, the index strengthened by 0.08% to 5,844.36 at 09:10 WIB. Subsequently, the IHSG weakened again by 0.48% to 5,811.89 at 09:15 WIB.

Meanwhile, based on Bloomberg data, the US Dollar strengthened by 77 points or 0.43% to reach the level of Rp 18,044.
