JAKARTA — Allegations of harassment and technical issues within the SejutaCita Future Leaders (SFL) programme have emerged on social media since late February 2026.

Several participants shared their experiences through the Instagram account @matchagreen1001. In response, SFL founder Andhika Sudarman issued an official statement through his personal Threads account.

The complaints encompassed technical aspects of programme administration and mentoring sessions. During the selection phase, participants were required to pay a registration fee of Rp99,000 (approximately £4.50) per selection branch. Only three participants achieved fully funded status, whilst others received partial funding or self-funded arrangements.

Participants who advanced were directed to attend Zoom sessions and complete confirmation forms. However, there were claims that the payment confirmation process did not meet the promised 24-hour timeline and required repeated follow-ups.

During programme implementation, participants were divided into several divisions, including Travel & Itinerary, Equipment, and Bonding & Documentation. Nevertheless, participants alleged they were required to independently prepare itineraries for the international trip.

Complaints also emerged regarding the cancellation of a promised visit to a prestigious university. Additionally, participants criticised the separation of flights into two groups, the substandard quality of hotel accommodation in Beijing, and unclear meal arrangements, despite the commitment letter stipulating a budget for three meals daily.

Inter-city travel by high-speed rail from Beijing to Shanghai also attracted scrutiny. Participants reported having to stand for approximately four hours due to sudden ticket changes.
