Ancol records 46,700 visitors on 17 August holiday
PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk recorded 46,700 people visiting the Ancol recreational area in North Jakarta by 8pm Western Indonesia Time on the 81st anniversary holiday of the Republic of Indonesia, Monday.
“Total visitors until this evening at 8pm reached 46,700 people,” said Corporate Communication of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk Daniel Windriatmoko in Jakarta on Monday.
He said the beach areas in Ancol were the most visited locations, including Pantai Lagoon, Pantai Carnaval, Beach Pool, Pantai Festival, Pantai Indah and Pantai Marina.
“The beaches and the Dufan recreation unit were the most visited today,” he said.
Previously, PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol held an underwater red-and-white flag-raising ceremony to welcome the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, which falls on 17 August 2026.
“The underwater red-and-white flag-raising was held at the Shark Aquarium of Sea World Ancol on Monday (17/8) at 10am Western Indonesia Time,” he said in Jakarta on Sunday.
In addition, there was an underwater traditional games show at the Shark Aquarium of Sea World Ancol on Monday (17/8) at 11.30am Western Indonesia Time and a theatrical drama show titled “Amanat dari Dasar Laut” at the Main Aquarium of Sea World Ancol.
Before the flag-raising, Ancol management held the 81st Independence Day flag ceremony in the Symphony of The Sea area on Monday (17/8) at 7am Western Indonesia Time.
Management also held various traditional competitions in the Merdekaria Funlympics activity from 9am to 12pm Western Indonesia Time at the east side of Pantai Lagoon.
According to him, various traditional competitions such as giant prawn crackers, cardboard dancing, straw flour, nail/pencil bottle with fishing rod were held.
Then games of putting nails into bottles, sack helmet running, water balloon hitting, marble racing and various other competitions were held at the location.
Meanwhile, the Colossal Panjat Pinang competition was held at Beachpool Beach with 50 areca palm trunks to be climbed by 100 teams competing for attractive prizes such as bicycles, electronic goods and various other prizes.
In addition, the company held Merdekaria Music at 6.30pm Western Indonesia Time at Pantai Lagoon Ancol as the closing of the Merdekaria celebration series.
PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol management also made the Ancol gate entrance free on Independence Day, which fell on Monday 17 August 2026, to enliven the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
